CPACT recently carried out some training for Organon.
Juan Rosas said “As part of the
framework of PAT CoE at Organon, a key objective was to review relevant
concepts and train more people in the company about the benefits of PAT in
pharmaceutical industry. This training targeted Organon process scientists, QC
scientists and company leaders. A particular focus was those who have not
utilized spectroscopic technologies or who are new to the industry with limited
knowledge of the various PAT technologies that can be applied. Working with
Organon, CPACT delivered a webinar presented by Martin Warman (CPACT Associate
Member) to introduce and review PAT concepts and spectroscopic techniques
utilized in process.
The webinar focussed on three main sections. Section 1
presented the background of PAT in pharmaceutical industry and regulatory
aspects. Section 2 was related to PAT toolbox, which shown diverse measurement
systems for quality attributes or process parameters. Finally, section 3
presented the drivers of PAT techniques with relevant examples of applications,
this included Optical spectroscopy, UV-visible, NIR, MIR, Raman and
Fluorescence.
The webinar was recorded and can be viewed in the CPACT
website. At the end of webinar, an Organon specific Q&A session was held
where Martin fielded questions from multiple process and analytical scientists.
The webinar was attended by Organon employees located in US,
UK, Belgium, and The Netherlands with scientists from technical operations,
analytical sciences, product commercialization, analytical chemistry and PAT
COE represented. With the challenges of time zones across a global
pharmaceutical company, recording of this webinar will allow more scientists
from other worldwide locations to benefit.
This webinar provided a meaningful and positive impact,
highlighting the importance of collaboration with CPACT to adapt company
specific training to further the education and engagement of our Organon
scientists.
