Webinar on Pre-processing methods for spectral data
31st October 2019 at 3 pm (UK time)
This webinar is an introduction to some commonly used pre-treatment algorithms for spectral data. The examples used will be NIR spectra, though the methods are more widely applicable. The methods covered are smoothing and derivative via Savitzky-Golay and other filters, and the multiplicative pre-treatments Multiplicative Scatter Correction (MSC) and standard Normal Variate (SNV). Topics discussed will include the order of application of multiple pre-treatments and the undesirable side effects of SNV and MSC.
This webinar will be presented by Tom Fearn, University College London and will last no longer than one hour.
