Webinar on Viscosity Measurements
19/02/19 at 3pm (UK time)
Viscosity is important in many industries including food, pharmaceutical, paints and personal care. Typically, viscosity is a critical quality parameter for many products, but knowledge of a products rheological behaviour provides a deeper understanding of the product and its potential applications. Measuring viscosity is well established in laboratory environments on viscometers and rheometers, however commercial online techniques have been found to have issues related to data acquisition rates, cleanliness and robustness.
This webinar will cover the basics of viscosity, characterisation of different materials, an overview of traditional measurement techniques and finally an introduction into in-situ viscosity measurements. The development of a novel method able to measure the viscosity of a complex shear banding fluid in-situ using in-line spectroscopy will also be discussed.
This webinar will be presented by Kiran Haroon, University of Manchester and will last no longer than one hour.
