CPACT is pleased to announce a free series of online talks providing a
comprehensive introduction to process analysis technologies (PAT) and
multivariate data analysis. This series will be open to CPACT members and
non-members alike.
The sessions will
typically be presented mid-afternoon North American Eastern Time, generally
following a once-per-week schedule, by experts from the CPACT community
representing a variety of end-user industries and analytical
instrument/software vendors. Each talk session will last 1 hour including 10-15
minutes for questions and discussion.
This webinar will take place at 2pm (EDT), 6 pm (UK time)
Fluorescence spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy
are two widely-used process analytic technologies that are similar in basic
concept -- illuminating a sample with light and then analyzing the
color-shifted light that returns from the sample -- but which differ
significantly in their specific implementation details, capabilities,
strengths, and shortcomings. We will share application examples for both of
these spectroscopic methods covering a variety of different industrial sectors,
including pharmaceutical, bioprocessing, petrochemical, food and beverage,
polymer production and recycling, and others. We aim to provide participants
with a solid understanding of both the strengths and the limitations of both
methods, so they can better assess the suitability of Raman and fluorescence
PAT for their specific process applications of interest.
